Pack a sock tighter and you add material while removing the space that does the work. We measured it on our own line, with the same fluid and the same drain time.
Both samples tested in diesel, 15-minute full immersion, 2-minute suspended drain. The lighter, loftier fill absorbed 24% more per gram — and the finished sock weighs a third less to handle and to dispose of.

Ask a supplier how their absorbency figure was obtained and the answer is usually full immersion with no drain — the weight of a product lifted straight out of the fluid, before it stops dripping. It is a larger number, and it is not what your customer keeps. Every figure on this page is measured after a two-minute suspended drain, and we will send you the raw weights.
